So, we designed the Evolving Playground to give kids tools to navigate life’s difficult challenges and improve their mental and physical wellbeing through play.

The platform was designed alongside practitioners, educators, and psychologists from The National Children’s Mental Health Foundation, The NSW Departments of Health and Education, Headspace, Mission Australia, The University of NSW and schools nationwide.

The Playground uses video games that train the mind, body and emotions to equip players with the mental health skills most relevant to the challenges they face.

Our programs have already engaged thousands of vulnerable kids, helping them train their bodies, minds and emotions by teaching them skills to manage challenges like pressure, fear and failure.

HOW IT WORKS

1- Players frame their play experience, in relation to their state of wellbeing and the challenges they may be facing.

2- Games are categorised by mental health skills and challenge, so the playing experience is relevant to the development of each player.

3- The child chooses the games they want to play. Games train specific elements of mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

4- As the games are played, players build the skills related to their challenges and complete the experiential steps required to retaining these skills over time.

At Evolving Playground, we believe in the power of data to drive meaningful change, whilst being keenly aware of the need for child-safe reporting practices.

That’s why we’ve implemented comprehensive reporting features within our app, providing parents with valuable insights into their child’s wellbeing development.

However, no personal data is collected about the child directly. Parents are the only account holders. They create and control user profiles. No identifying data is ever collected from player accounts. This creates a way for parents to provide a safe experience for their child, whilst understanding how each player is equipping themselves with the skills and routines to optimise their mental health and wellbeing.
